Happy (belated) birthday to me!

Although my birthday was a full month ago, I've decided it was such a post-worthy day that I'd still take a minute to blog about it. It was one of my best birthdays ever! Each year I milk my birthday for all it's worth so really, I celebrate it for multiple days rather just one day. After all, one day is just not enough to celebrate being me. ;-)

For starters, it was like 70 - 75 degrees that whole weekend - unusual for Ohio at the beginning of March. On Thursday, my parents, Jeremy, the boys and I went out for a late-ish breakfast (my parents stayed over Wednesday night). After breakfast, Jeremy and my dad stayed home with the boys while my mom and I went shopping for 4 glorious hours. I spent every dime of my birthday gift certificates. When we got home, Jeremy had a gourmet dinner ready of the most amazing, oozing-with-cheese lasagna I've ever tasted, grilled garlic bread, and cranberry-apple spinach salad. We had ice cream cake, opened presents, put the boys down for bed early and relaxed while watching a movie.
On Friday, Jeremy had planned a surprise getaway for me. We all drove over to Indy afterwhich Jeremy and I left the boys at my parents' whilst the two of us escaped to a romantic bed & breakfast. We spent the day downtown eating lunch, walking around the beautiful canal and enjoying the city. It was 24 hours of no kids, no work, just-the-two-of-us heaven. Saturday, we took Matt and Jordi to the zoo and then went out for a birthday dinner with my family, including my sister and her husband. On Sunday, Jeremy concluded my birthday festivities with a massage and a full spa foot massage - foot soak, pumice stone, foot scrub, shea butter. The works. (sorry, no picture for this one)

Funniest Moment of the Day: When Jeremy brought out the ice cream cake, the boys were SO excited. It was so frozen, though, that by the time Jeremy was able to cut through it, Jordan had started eating his fists (see pic below). When Jordi finally got a piece of ice cream cake, he put a HUGE bite in his mouth. You could see the brain freeze forming as panic flooded his tiny face. He started crying, "Cold, owie, COLD!" I jumped up and put a cup of apple juice to his mouth to soothe the shock of the cold. He took a sip, relaxed, and then said, "Mmmmm...Nice and cozy." Haha, what a character.

"If I don't get a piece of that cake in 5 seconds, I swear I'll eat my hand."

Best Moment of the Day: My mom and I were out shopping and some guy overheard us talking about my birthday. He offered to buy me a drink because he thought it was my 21st birthday. Suh-weet! 28 going on 22.

Best Gift: It's a toss-up:
1. My mom cleaned my entire house.
2. Jeremy wrote me the most beautiful love letter. If you've read the Twilight books, you know how Bella had saved up her favorite moments of herself and Edward, and in the end she finally got to share her thoughts with him? Jeremy wrote me a letter as if he were sharing his memories of his favorite moments with me. I won't divulge the contents as most are either too risque or too embarrassing to reveal to the public. It was so incredibly sweet, though.

I am so glad you had a wonderful birthday! It sounds like your whole weekend was a blast. You deserved a great birthday. You are awesome. Ben and I still want to go out to dinner with you and Jeremy for your birthday. I know we are late. Sorry. I hope we can get our schedules all open on the same night so we can celebrate. You are so special we might as well carry your birthday celebrations into the next month. Right? Love ya!
